AGILE METHODOLOGIES – PRODUCT OWNER II

Agile product management: From Theory to Practice

PSPO 1

The “Product Owner II Agile Product Management: From Theory to Practice” course teaches participants to deepen their knowledge and skills for product development and management based on agile concepts and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban and Experimental (Lean), or even Hybrid. This course offers an emphasis on product development in a complex or combined complicated-complex context, where empiricism and business experimentation are the basic elements to reduce project risk. Based on theory, workshops, exercises and case studies, it is recommended for people interested in the subject and who want to implement empiricism as a method to reduce the risk of complex projects within their company. People who already have practical experience in agile projects and/or product management and who want to learn more by exploring continuous innovation are also welcome.

Note: We recommend that you take the Product Owner I course beforehand. No basic concepts will be studied during this course.

Course content

  • The Product Owner’s Posture. Learn more about understanding the context to find a mixed angle between the different postures of a Product Owner, and the approach of a traditional Project/Product Manager.
  • The basics of product development. Learn about vision-context interactions, risk management and seizing market opportunities.
  • Move from strategy to goals (agile-hybrid performance measures). Integrate product planning, the understanding of different levels of objectives and the understanding of agile metrics and OKRs in application (Objectives and Key Results).
  • Backlog management. Put into practice the alignment of objectives (OKRs) and backlog tasks in a multi-project context.
  • Prioritization methods. Master the revision and adaptation of prioritization methods, better known to agile-hybrid contexts.
  • Agile or Hybrid roadmaps. Create flexible roadmaps to keep track of progress, but that also can be adapted quickly according to the context’s needs.
  • The Product Owner as a support to the Scrum Master. Learn more about normalizing challenges in agile or hybrid contexts, and explore techniques to move the team forward by working on the psychological capital of its members.
  • Exercises and simulation of the PSPO II exam. Optional section for those wishing to study for the exam.

This course is also available on request for corporate teams.
