AGILE METHODOLOGIES – SCRUM MASTER II

Agile Team Management: From Theory to Practice

PSPO 1

The “Agile Methodologies – Scrum Master II – Agile Team Management: From Theory to Practice” course allows participants to develop in-depth knowledge and skills on agile concepts and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean, or even hybrid. This course focuses on the development of optimal processes with teams that are well positioned to solve complex problems in the context of combined frameworks, where business adaptation and experimentation are core elements to reduce project risk. Based on theory, workshops, exercises and case studies, it is intended for those interested in the subject and who wish to implement empiricism as a main method to derisk complex projects within their company. It is also intended for those who already have practical experience in agile project and/or product management and who want to go further by exploring continuous innovation.

Note: For participants with no experience or basic knowledge of agility and scrum, we recommend taking the Scrum Master I course first. No basic concepts will be studied during this training.

Course content

    • Coach and Mentor: accompanies and empowers individuals in their journey towards agility, seeks to better understand their motivations, modes of operation and challenges to advance them as contributors to an agile team;
    • Facilitator & Experimenter: focuses on innovation, business hypothesis testing and potential value validation to drive product innovation, and use Lean Startup, Design Thinking/Design Sprint and product development principles through the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), to do emergent planning for a product roadmap;

    • Influencer & Agent of Change: communicates and influences stakeholders, customers and the Scrum team to work and collaborate towards a common goal;
    • Collaborator: seeks input, ideas and feedback from others, plans deliveries and integrates with other teams, requirements management and deployment planning (if the context is IT);
    • Decision support: supports stakeholders in creating maximum impact by making clear choices and decisions; Agile product (and project!) management and Scrum mechanics: efficiency, emergent planning, and risk assessment and management;
  • The Scrum Master as a change leader: key principles and team effectiveness. Discover how to orient posture and use techniques to boost and align teams, in order to accompany them in the process of developing skills to become self-managed with a creative mindset and adaptable to the context.
  • The Scrum Master as a guardian of the teams’ psychological capital. Integrate the normalization of challenges encountered in agile or hybrid contexts, and master the exploration of techniques to move the team forward, by working on the psychological capital of its members.
